Messenger of Allah, what does honouring it entail?” He said: “Oiling and combing it every day.”

He also said: “Abu Nu‘aym narrated it in Tarikh Isfahan, and Ibn ‘Asakir narrated it from Ibn ‘Umar. Its chain includes Ishaq ibn Isma‘il al-Ramli. Abu Nu‘aym said: ‘He related hadiths from memory and erred in them.’ Al-Nasa’i said: ‘Acceptable.’”

I say: Despite the weakness of its chain of transmission, this addition is rejected, since it contradicts the following hadith:

“The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prohibited combing one’s hair except every other day.”
