This Ibrahim was Ibrahim ibn ʿAbd Allah, Abu Ishaq al-ʿAbsi, as appears in the chain of transmission of an earlier hadith in that work. He was Ibrahim ibn ʿAbd Allah ibn Bukayr ibn al-Harith al-ʿAbsi, the last of Wakiʿ’s companions to die. He died in 279 AH, as stated in al-Shadharat (2/174). He had a hadith collection from Wakiʿ ibn al-Jarrah, transmitted from him—from Wakiʿ—by Abu ʿAmr al-Hasan ibn ʿAli ibn al-Hasan al-ʿAttar.
He recorded this hadith in it (fol. 134/1) from Wakiʿ with the same chain, except that he gave it a connected chain of transmission, saying: “From Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, said.”
I have found corroborating transmitters from Wakiʿ for it:
The first was ʿAbd Allah ibn Abi ʿArabah al-Shashi, who said: Wakiʿ narrated it to us with this chain.
Abu al-Hasan ʿAli ibn ʿUmar al-Harbi al-Sukkari recorded it in al-Fawaʾid al-Muntaqah (157/2): ʿAbd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn Asad narrated to us; Hatim ibn Mansur al-Shashi, Abu Saʿid, narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Abi ʿArabah al-Shashi narrated to us.
Al-Samʿani mentioned this ʿAbd Allah under the entry al-Shashi, saying:
“This attribution is to a city beyond the Sayhun River called al-Shash. It is one of the frontier regions of the Turks. A great many Muslim imams came from it, among them ʿAbd Allah ibn Abi ʿArabah al-Shashi. He travelled to Marw and Iraq, heard from ʿAli ibn Hujr and Ahmad ibn Hanbal, was narrated from by the people of his town, and died in 286 AH.”
However, I have not yet found a biographical notice for Hatim ibn Mansur, who narrated from him.
