Likewise, there is the hadith of Abū Saʿīd, with the wording:
“A man will surely take his father by the hand on the Day of Resurrection …”
It is narrated in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Mawārid (18—Chapter) and documented in al-Taʿlīqāt al-Ḥisān (1/235/252).
And the hadith of ʿAlī, with the wording:
“The urine of a boy is to be sprinkled, whereas the urine of a girl is to be washed.”
Its chain of transmission is authentic, as al-Ḥāfiẓ stated. It was authenticated by a number of scholars, including al-Tirmidhī, al-Ḥākim, and al-Dhahabī. It is documented in al-Irwāʾ, no. 166, and Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd, no. 402. And the hadith: “A woman is ʿawrah (something that must be concealed) …”
Al-Tirmidhī graded it good, while Ibn Khuzaymah and Ibn Ḥibbān authenticated it. It is documented in al-Irwāʾ, no. 273, and earlier in this series, no. 2688.
For the present, I shall suffice with these examples, for I remain bedridden with my illness, hoping that Allah will grant me a swift recovery, with the assistance of my son ʿAbd al-Muṣawwir—may Allah make him happy and grant him success.
I have indeed gone to the trouble and exerted myself to dictate this, despite my condition, when I saw that the esteemed brother, ʿAlī Riḍā, had declared the hadith weak, citing Qatādah’s use of the ambiguous “from” transmission formula as the reason. There, he related that al-Haythamī, al-Suyūṭī, and al-Albānī in al-Ṣaḥīḥah, no. 1186, had authenticated it. I had documented it there and cited some corroborating reports for it, concerning which he criticized me in his book entitled Do Not Deliberately Lie about Him. He presented it to me—may Allah reward him well—on 7/11/1418 AH, even though he had introduced his declaration that the hadith was weak by saying (p. 49):
“One of the most difficult disciplines of hadith study is judging the text. Yet, despite the fact that the chains through which that text has been narrated are multiple and numerous, it may be said that they lend strength to the hadith!”
