3613—“While Job was bathing unclothed, golden locusts fell upon him, and Job began gathering them up in his garment. Then his Lord called out to him, ‘O Job! Have I not made you free of need of what you see?’ He replied, ‘Indeed, by Your might! But I cannot do without Your blessing.’”
Abu Hurayrah narrated it from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Three reliable narrators transmitted it from Abu Hurayrah:
The first: Hammam ibn Munabbih:
Al-Bukhari (279, 3391, and 7493), Ibn Hibban (6229), Ahmad (2/314), al-Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (2027) and his Tafsir (5/347), al-Bayhaqi in al-Asma wa al-Sifat (p. 206) and al-Sunan al-Kubra (1/198), and Ibn ‘Asakir in Tarikh Dimashq (10/75) narrated it through Ma‘mar, from him, from Abu Hurayrah.
The second: Bashir ibn Nahik:
Al-Tayalisi (2455), Ahmad (2/304, 490, and 551), Ibn Hibban (6230), al-Hakim (2/582), and Ibn ‘Asakir (10/76) narrated it through al-Nadr ibn Anas, from him, from Abu Hurayrah.
Al-Hakim said:
“This hadith is authentic according to al-Bukhari’s condition, though neither of them recorded it.”
Al-Dhahabi said in his Talkhis: “Al-Bukhari and Muslim.”
Imam Ibn Kathir said in his Tarikh (1/323):
“It meets the condition of the Sahih.”
The third: ‘Ata’ ibn Yasar:
Al-Bukhari cited it in suspended form in his Sahih (1/3811—Fath), and al-Nasa’i gave it with a connected chain (1/200),
