the wording being his—; Ahmad (3/103, 115–116, 191, 207, 231–232, 232, 263, and 289); Ibn Hibban (6474); al-Ajurri in al-Shari'ah (The Sacred Law) (395–396); and al-Tabari in his Tafsir (Exegesis) (30/209), through several chains from Qatadah, who said: Anas told us that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ... and he cited it.

Humayd al-Tawil corroborated Qatadah in this report. It was narrated by al-Nasa'i in al-Kubra (The Major Collection) (11706); Ibn Abi Shaybah (11/13437/147); Ahmad (3/103 and 115); Hannad ibn al-Sari in al-Zuhd (Asceticism) (134); Ibn Hibban (6472); al-Hakim (1/80); al-Ajurri in al-Shari'ah (The Sacred Law) (396); al-Tabari in his Tafsir (Exegesis) (30/209); Abu Nu'aym in Sifat al-Jannah (Description of Paradise) (327); and al-Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (Explanation of the Sunnah) (4343) and in his Tafsir (Exegesis) (8/558), through two chains from him, attributed to the Prophet, with the wording: “I entered Paradise ...”

Al-Hakim said:

“This hadith is authentic according to the conditions of the two Shaykhs, though neither of them recorded it.”

In al-Jami' al-Saghir (The Minor Compendium) (3360, in its authentic section), al-Suyuti attributed it to al-Bukhari and al-Tirmidhi. Yet this wording does not occur in either of them; rather, they contain only the first wording.

Thabit also narrated something similar from Anas, and it has been documented earlier in this Silsilah, under no. 2513.

Note: In his Tafsir (Exegesis) (4/557), Ibn Kathir attributed Anas’s hadith, through Qatadah, to al-Bukhari—and Muslim. Al-Mizzi did likewise in Tuhfat al-Ashraf (1/337), but then added:

“This hadith of Muslim was not mentioned by Abu Mas'ud; I found it appended in Khalaf’s book.”
