This is a good chain of transmission, in view of the status of Muhammad ibn Ishaq.
Al-Hakim said: “This hadith is authentic according to the criteria of Muslim, though neither of them recorded it!”
I say: Muslim only narrated from Ibn Ishaq in corroboration!
- As for the hadith of the man among the Companions:
It was narrated by Ibn Abi Shaybah in al-Musannaf (12/134), from Ibn Numayr, from al-A‘mash, from Abu Salih, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet, who said:
Gabriel came to the Prophet and said: “Give Khadijah glad tidings of a house in Paradise made of hollow pearls, in which there will be neither clamour nor toil.”
This is an authentic chain of transmission. Al-A‘mash’s use of the transmission formula “from” in reporting from Abu Salih does not affect it, for he narrated extensively from him, as Imam al-Dhahabi stated.
Likewise, the fact that the Companion is unnamed is not detrimental, for all of them—may Allah be pleased with them—are upright.
There are two points of benefit relating to the hadith here:
First: ‘Abd al-Razzaq narrated (5/324 and 11/430)—and Ahmad narrated from him in al-Fada’il (1574)—from ‘Urwah in mursal form, who said:
Khadijah died, and the Prophet said:
“I was shown a house for Khadijah made of hollow pearls, in which there will be neither clamour nor toil.”
He said: It was made of pearl reeds.
Its narrators are trustworthy.
