and al-Nasa’i in al-Kubra (8362), Ahmad in his Musnad (6/58, 202, and 279), al-Hakim in al-Mustadrak (3/186), and Ishaq ibn Rahawayh in his Musnad (311), through various routes from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from her, with the same wording. Al-Hakim said:
“This hadith is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhari and Muslim, though neither of them recorded it!” Al-Dhahabi concurred with him!!
I say: Rather, the hadith is in the Sahihayn.
- As for the hadith of Abu Hurayrah:
It was narrated by al-Bukhari (3820 and 7497), Muslim (7/133), al-Nasa’i in al-Kubra (8358), Ibn Abi Shaybah (12/133), Ibn Hibban (7009), al-Hakim (3/185), al-Baghawi (3953), Ahmad in the Musnad (2/231) and in al-Fada’il (1588), Abu Ya‘la (6089), and al-Tabarani (23/no. 10), through various routes from Muhammad ibn Fudayl, from Umarah, from Abu Zur‘ah, from him, with the same wording. Al-Hakim said:
“This hadith is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhari and Muslim, though they did not record it with this wording!” Al-Dhahabi concurred with him!
I say: Indeed, it is in both of them with precisely the same wording. Infallible is only he whom Allah preserves from error!!
- As for the hadith of Abd Allah ibn Ja‘far:
It was narrated by Ibn Hibban (7005), al-Hakim (3/184 and 185), Ahmad in the Musnad (1/205) and in al-Fada’il (1585 and 1591), Abu Ya‘la in his Musnad (6795 and 6798), and al-Tabarani in al-Mu‘jam al-Kabir (23/no. 13), through various routes from Ibn Ishaq, who said: Hisham ibn Urwah narrated to me, from his father, from him, with the same wording.
