Al-Nasa’i, may Allah have mercy on him, preferred the first narration.
Al-Nasa’i then transmitted it through several other routes in order to mention the various differences in the reports from Ibrahim ibn Sa‘d al-Zuhri.
I say: None of these variations impairs the hadith, for the chains of transmission are sound and the narrators trustworthy.
The hadith also has a supporting report through another route from Abu Hurayrah, attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, with the wording:
“If a woman goes out to the mosque, let her wash off her perfume as she bathes from major ritual impurity.”
Its documentation has preceded in this Silsilah Sahihah (no. 1031), so it should be consulted. *
- “The Ansar are my inner circle and my trusted confidants. People will increase, while they will decrease; so accept the good-doers among them and overlook their wrongdoers.”
It is reported in hadiths from Anas, Usayd ibn Hudayr, Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri, and Ka‘b ibn Malik.
First: the hadith of Anas, which has several routes:
- Qatadah:
It was recorded by al-Bukhari (3801)—whose wording is cited here—Muslim (7/174), al-Nasa’i in al-Kubra (8325), al-Tirmidhi (3901), Ibn Hibban (7265), al-Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (3972), Ahmad in his Musnad (3/176 and 272) and in al-Fada’il (1464), and Abu Ya‘la (2994 and 3208), through Shu‘bah, from Qatadah, from Anas.
