Fifth: Abu Salih:
It was recorded by Muslim (3/133), Ibn Khuzaymah (2072), al-Baghawi (1738), Ibn Abi Shaybah (3/82), al-Tabarani in al-Mujam al-Awsat (5539), and Ahmad (2/253 and 495–496).
Sixth: Musa ibn Yasar:
Ahmad (2/257) recorded it from Yazid, from Muhammad, from him, with the same wording.
Muhammad is Ibn Ishaq, and Musa ibn Yasar was his uncle.
Seventh: Said ibn al-Musayyib:
Al-Bukhari (7242) recorded it through al-Zuhri, from him, with the same wording.
Eighth: Sulaym ibn Hayyan:
Ahmad (2/345) recorded it from Affan, from him, with the same wording.
This is one of Ahmad’s reports with a three-narrator chain. Sulaym—with the sin vowelled with fatḥah and the lam with kasrah—was a trustworthy narrator whose reports appear in the Six Books.
Its chain is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhari and Muslim.
I say: There are also reports on this subject from more than one of the Companions. See Sahih Abi Dawud (2043 and 2044) and Sahih al-Jami al-Saghir wa Ziyadatuhu (2495). *
- “Any woman who has applied perfume should not attend the final night prayer with us.”
It was recorded by Muslim (2/34), Abu Dawud (4175), and al-Nasai in al-Sughra (8/154).
