(5449 and 5510), al-Tabarani in al-Awsat (4092), Abu Nuʿaym in al-Hilyah (6/133), al-Dulabi in al-Kuna (1/168), Ibn ʿAsakir in Tarikh Dimashq (1/130–132), and al-Fasawi in al-Maʿrifah wa-al-Tarikh (2/748), through several routes from him, with this wording. I have discussed it briefly in my book Takhrij Ahadith Fadaʾil al-Sham (p. 25).

The third: Nafiʿ, the freedman of Ibn ʿUmar:

It was narrated by al-Bukhari (3104, 7093, and 7094), Muslim (8/180 and 181), Ahmad (2/18 and 92), al-Tarsusi in Musnad Ibn ʿUmar (69), al-Fasawi (2/748), and Ibn ʿAsakir (1/133–136).

The fourth: Bishr ibn Harb al-Nadbi:

It was narrated by Ahmad (2/124) and Ibn ʿAsakir (1/137).

Bishr was truthful, though he had some weakness, as stated in al-Taqrib.

Note: Some of these narrations contain the wording: “Indeed, disbelief is here ...”; others: “Earthquakes and tribulations ...”; and still others relate the account of Ibn ʿUmar and the people of Iraq when they asked him about the blood of a mosquito.
