However, it has been authentically transmitted through another trustworthy corroborating narrator. Al-Ṭabarānī also said in al-Awsaṭ (2/126/1466): “Aḥmad narrated to us: Yaḥyā ibn Muḥammad ibn al-Sakan narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Juḥḍam narrated to us: Ismāʿīl ibn Jaʿfar narrated to us, from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah, with the same wording,” adding at its end:
“over His creation.”
This is an authentic chain of transmission. All of its narrators are trustworthy and are included among the narrators of al-Tahdhīb, apart from this Aḥmad—namely, Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn Ṣadaqah—who was one of al-Ṭabarānī’s shaykhs from whom he narrated extensively, and who was a precise hadith master.
This documentation makes al-Haythamī’s shortcoming in tracing and grading the hadith evident to the researcher, as he said (1/332):
“Aḥmad and al-Ṭabarānī in al-Awsaṭ narrated it. Its chain contains Ibn Lahīʿah, who is weak; and al-Ṭabarānī stated in it: ‘So ask Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to grant me the Wasilah over His creation.’”
Thus, he gave the impression that al-Ṭabarānī’s chain containing this latter wording likewise includes Ibn Lahīʿah. But that is not so, as we have explained.
The hadith also has a corroborating narration from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAmr which is more complete than it. Muslim and others narrated it, and it has been traced in al-Irwāʾ (1/259/242) and Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd (536). *

It is reported from ʿĀʾishah and Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ.
As for the hadith of ʿĀʾishah, Ibn Shihāb narrates from ʿUrwah ibn al-Zubayr, from her, that the Messenger
