Sulayman—who was al-Amash—said: “So I asked him about al-Rawha, and he replied: ‘It is thirty-six miles from Medina.’”
Muslim and others then narrated it from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah with similar but more complete wording, without mentioning al-Rawha. It is cited in Sahih Abi Dawud (529).
The hadith has another chain of transmission, narrated by Ibn Lahi'ah: Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us from Jabir, attributing it to the Prophet, with similar wording.
Ahmad recorded it (3/336). *
3507 — “Is not the One who made him walk on two feet in this world able to make him walk on his face on the Day of Resurrection?”
Al-Bukhari (4760 and 6523), Muslim (8/135), Ibn Hibban (7279), al-Nasai in al-Sunan al-Kubra (6/420/11367), al-Tabari in al-Tafsir (19/9), Abu Nuaym in al-Hilyah (2/343), al-Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (15/126), and Ahmad (3/229) all recorded it through Qatadah, who said: Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated to us:
A man said, “O Prophet of Allah, will the disbeliever be gathered on his face on the Day of Resurrection?” He replied: … and he mentioned it.
Qatadah said: “Indeed, by the might of our Lord!”
The wording of al-Nasai alone among them all is:
“Indeed, the One who made them walk on their feet is able to make them walk on their faces.”
Al-Suyuti also cited it in al-Ziyadah with approximately this wording, as narrated by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Ahmad, and al-Nasai.
