Also among them is a report from Jabir, transmitted through several chains, similar to the hadith of Anas.
It was recorded by Muslim (2/131), Abu Awanah (1/387), Ibn Hibban (2040), and Ahmad (3/332, 371, and 390). *
3501 — “Abraham declared Mecca sacred and prayed for it; and I have declared Medina sacred, just as Abraham declared Mecca sacred, and I have prayed for blessing in its mudd and sa' measures as Abraham prayed for Mecca.”
It was recorded by al-Bukhari (2129), Muslim (4/112), al-Bayhaqi (5/197), and Ahmad (4/40), all through the chain of Abbad ibn Tamim al-Ansari, from Abdullah ibn Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: ... and then mentioned it.
Muslim also narrated it, as did al-Bayhaqi (5/197 and 198) and Ahmad (4/141), in a shortened form on the authority of Rafi ibn Khadij:
“Abraham declared Mecca sacred, and I declare sacred the area between its two lava fields”—meaning Medina.
Muslim (4/118) also recorded a similar report on the authority of Abu Sa'id al-Khudri. *
3502 — “Indeed, I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of Allah.”
It was recorded by al-Bukhari (20) and Ahmad (6/56 and 61), from the hadith of Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Aishah, who said:
Whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed them, he instructed them to perform deeds within their capacity. They said, “We are not like you, O Messenger of Allah! Allah has forgiven you your former and latter sins?!”
