Al-Nasa’i narrated it (1/67).
Its narrators are also trustworthy.
Isra’il differed from both of them regarding its chain of transmission, saying: from al-Mughirah, from Umm Musa, who said:
“I asked Aishah about the two units of prayer after Asr, and she said: ‘There was not a single day on which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to me without praying two units after Asr.’”
Ahmad narrated it (6/109).
I say: This is the preserved version of Aishah’s hadith through the routes narrated from her, without the statement about striking. If that statement is preserved in Khalid’s route from al-Mughirah, then the defect lies with him—al-Mughirah ibn Miqsam al-Dabbi—for he practised concealment in transmission, especially from Ibrahim, as stated in al-Taqrib.
And Ibrahim—namely, Ibrahim ibn Yazid al-Nakha’i—cannot be presumed to have transmitted such an anomalous and contradictory report.
Ibn Hibban’s inclusion of this particular hadith narrated by al-Mughirah, and of his other hadiths generally, conflicts with his fifth condition, which he laid down in the introduction to his Sahih for the hadiths it contains: that a report be free from concealment in transmission. For this al-Mughirah was regarded by him as one who practised concealment in transmission as well! Indeed, he has also violated his remaining conditions, as I have established in my introduction to Sahih al-Mawarid and Da’if al-Mawarid. They should be consulted, for they are exceedingly important. *

Al-Tabarani narrated it in al-Mu’jam al-Awsat (3/122/2674): Ibrahim related to us; Shayban ibn Farrukh related to us; Abu Awanah related to us, from Abu Miskin, from Huzayl ibn Shurahbil, from Abdullah ibn Masud, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ... and he mentioned it. He said:
