Through the same route, al-Quḍāʿī transmitted it in Musnad al-Shihāb (1/180/263), but he said: from Ibrāhīm al-Hijrī, from Abū al-Aḥwaṣ, from ʿAbd Allāh!
It has a corroborating report, narrated by ʿUmar ibn Yaḥyā ibn Nāfiʿ, who said: ʿĪsā ibn Shuʿayb narrated to us; Rawḥ ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us from Ayyūb, from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, attributed to the Prophet, with the same wording. Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr transmitted it.
ʿUmar ibn Yaḥyā ibn Nāfiʿ is al-Ablī, as stated in the biography of his teacher, ʿĪsā ibn Shuʿayb, in Tahdhīb al-Mizzī. I was unable to find a biographical notice for him. *
3480 — “Whoever disowns his child in order to disgrace him in this world, Allah will disgrace him on the Day of Resurrection before all the witnesses—a requital for a requital.”
Aḥmad transmitted it (2/26), and through his route al-Ṭabarānī transmitted it in al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr (12/400/13478) and al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ (4/312/4297—Ḥaramayn); and from him, Abū Nuʿaym transmitted it in al-Ḥilyah (9/223–224): Wakīʿ narrated to us from his father, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī al-Mujālid, from Mujāhid, from Ibn ʿUmar, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: ... and he then cited it.
I say: This is a good chain of transmission. All of its narrators are trustworthy and are narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ. Wakīʿ’s father—whose name was al-Jarrāḥ ibn Malīḥ al-Ruʾāsī—has some weakness, but his hadith does not, Allah willing, fall below the rank of good.
Regarding ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī al-Mujālid, al-Taqrīb states:
“It is said that his name was Muḥammad; he was trustworthy.”
I say: Layth ibn Abī Sulaym also corroborated him, narrating from Mujāhid, from Ibn ʿUmar, with similar wording.
