3462 — “Allah has cursed whoever sacrifices to other than Allah; Allah has cursed whoever alters the land-boundary markers; Allah has cursed whoever misdirects a blind person from the road; Allah has cursed whoever insults his parents—or, in another wording, is undutiful to them; Allah has cursed whoever claims allegiance to patrons other than his rightful patrons; [Allah has cursed whoever has intercourse with an animal]; Allah has cursed whoever commits the deed of Lot’s people; [Allah has cursed whoever commits the deed of Lot’s people; Allah has cursed whoever commits the deed of Lot’s people].”
Al-Hakim recorded it (4/356)—and the wording is his—as did al-Bayhaqi in al-Sunan (8/231) and Shuʿab al-Iman (4/254/5373); Ahmad (1/217, 309, and 317), with the alternate wording also reported by him; ʿAbd ibn Humayd (1/513/587); Abu Yaʿla (4/414–415/2539), and, through his route, Ibn Hibban (43/53); and al-Tabarani in al-Muʿjam al-Kabir (11/218/17546), through various routes from ʿAmr ibn Abi ʿAmr, from ʿIkrimah, from Ibn ʿAbbas, who said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: … and he cited it.
The first addition was recorded by al-Bayhaqi, ʿAbd ibn Humayd, al-Tabarani, Ahmad in one narration, and al-Hakim, who said: “Its chain of transmission is authentic.” Al-Dhahabi concurred with him.
The other addition was recorded by all of them except al-Hakim. Both it and the preceding addition were recorded by al-Nasaʾi in al-Sunan al-Kubra (4/322/7337 and 7338), without the material preceding them; likewise, al-Kharaʾiti recorded them in Masawiʾ al-Akhlaq (203/443).
I say: The annotator of Musnad ʿAbd ibn Humayd declared the hadith defective on account of this ʿAmr ibn Abi ʿAmr, saying: “Some deemed him trustworthy, while others declared him weak”!
