- Abū Salamah ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān:
Al-Bukhārī narrated it in his Ṣaḥīḥ (3790 and 6053), as did al-Bukhārī in al-Tārīkh al-Kabīr (7/299), Muslim (7/175), Aḥmad (3/494), al-Nasāʾī in al-Kubrā (8340, 8341 (1), and 8345), and Ibn Qāniʿ in Muʿjam al-Ṣaḥābah (984), through various chains from him, with this wording.
- Ghaziyyah Abū ʿUmārah:
Al-Ḥākim (3/516) and al-Ṭabarānī in al-Kabīr (19/588) narrated it through Yaḥyā ibn Bukayr, from Ibn Lahīʿah, from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah, from his father, from him, with this wording.
Ghaziyyah was Ibn al-Ḥārith, a Companion—as stated by Ibn Abī Ḥātim and others—and is included in al-Iṣābah (3/185).
Ibn Lahīʿah’s memory deteriorated after his books were burned, and Ibn Bukayr was not among those who narrated from him before his memory deteriorated.
Nevertheless, the other routes of the hadith render it entirely unnecessary.
- Ibrāhīm ibn Muḥammad ibn Ṭalḥah:
Muslim (7/175) narrated it through ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ḥumayd, from him, with this wording.
Third: the hadith of Abū Ḥumayd:
Al-Bukhārī (1481 and 3791), Muslim (7/261), Aḥmad (5/424–425), and al-Ṭaḥāwī in Mushkil al-Āthār (2808) narrated it through ʿAmr ibn Yaḥyā, from al-ʿAbbās ibn Sahl al-Sāʿidī, from him, with this wording.
