Ibn Saʿd likewise transmitted it in al-Ṭabaqāt (8/446), saying: Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Anṣārī informed us; Abān ibn Samʿah narrated to us, saying: I heard Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn—who came to visit us in prison, to see Yazīd ibn Abī Bakrah—say: Ḥabībah narrated to me that she was in the house of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, came ... He then related the hadith up to the words, “Enter, you and your parents,” omitting what follows. He added:

ʿĀishah said to the woman, “Did you hear?” She replied, “Yes.”

Al-Ṭabarānī also transmitted it in al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr (24/224/570), and Abū Nuʿaym in Maʿrifat al-Ṣaḥābah (2/342/2), through other chains from Abān ibn Samʿah, in an abbreviated form.

Then al-Ṭabarānī transmitted it through two chains from ʿAbd al-Razzāq, who said: I heard Hishām ibn Ḥassān narrate from Muḥammad ibn Sīrīn, from Yazīd ibn Abī Bakrah, who said: Ḥabībah narrated to me that she was with ʿĀishah ... the hadith, up to the words:

“Enter Paradise, you and your parents.”

Al-Haythamī said in al-Majmaʿ (3/7):

“Al-Ṭabarānī transmitted it in al-Kabīr. Its narrators are the narrators of the authentic collections, except for Yazīd ibn Abī Bakrah, for whom I have found no biographical entry. He also transmitted it through another chain, whose narrators are trustworthy, and which does not include Yazīd ibn Abī Bakrah. And Allah knows best!”

I say: Yazīd ibn Abī Bakrah al-Thaqafī was mentioned by Ibn Saʿd among the children of Abū Bakrah al-Thaqafī, may Allah be pleased with him, in his al-Ṭabaqāt (7/191), but he gave no biographical entry for him. Ibn Ḥibbān included him in al-Thiqāt (5/534) and said:

“The people of Basra narrated from him.”
