Al-Ḥāfiẓ said:
“Weak.”
However, al-Qāsim also transmitted it from Abū Umāmah with the same wording. Al-Ṭabarānī transmitted it in al-Muʿjam al-Kabīr (8/209/7741) through ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Mūsā ibn ʿUlayy, from Yaḥyā ibn al-Ḥārith, from him.
I say: This is a good chain of transmission; its narrators are trustworthy, notwithstanding the well-known disagreement concerning al-Qāsim, the transmitter from Abū Umāmah.
ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān is al-Ḥarrānī. There is some criticism of him, but it does not affect this report. For this reason, al-Mundhirī (1/165) and al-Haythamī (10/104) said:
“Al-Ṭabarānī transmitted it, and its chain of transmission is good.”
It also has another route: al-Aḥwaṣ ibn Ḥakīm transmitted it from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ghābir, from Abū Umāmah, attributed to the Prophet, with the wording:
“Whoever performs the dawn prayer in a mosque in congregation, then remains there until he performs the ḍuḥā prayer, will have the reward of a pilgrim or one performing ʿUmrah—his Hajj and ʿUmrah complete.”
Al-Ṭabarānī also transmitted it (8/174/7649 and 180–181), as did Ibn ʿAsākir in Tārīkh Dimashq (7/353, Ṭ edition).
Al-Aḥwaṣ ibn Ḥakīm is weak because of his poor memory.
ʿAbd Allāh ibn Ghābir—with a dotted ghayn—is Abū ʿĀmir al-Shāmī al-Ḥimṣī al-Alhānī, and he is trustworthy.
