Silsilat al-Ahadith al-SahihahNasir al-Din al-Albani

al-Tamhīd (32/317 and 318), through several chains from Ibn al-Hād, from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār, from a man of the Anṣār belonging to Banū Bayāḍah, who heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was staying in the mosque one day. He admonished, warned, and encouraged the people, then said: ... and he cited it.

Al-Nasāʾī then narrated it through other chains from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, in both shorter and longer versions, some mursal and some with continuous chains.

This is an authentic, continuous chain, as Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr stated, for all its narrators are trustworthy and are among the narrators of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.

Mālik also narrated it in al-Muwaṭṭaʾ (1/101–102), as did Aḥmad (4/344), through Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd, from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ḥārith al-Taymī, from Abū Ḥāzim al-Tammār, from al-Bayāḍī, who related that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ... the hadith.

ʿAbd Rabbih also narrated it from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, from Abū Ḥāzim, with the same chain; and from Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm through someone other than Abū Ḥāzim, in various versions which I detailed previously in al-Ṣaḥīḥah (1597). There, I judged it defective because of the inconsistencies in ʿAbd Rabbih’s narration and because al-Bayāḍī was unnamed and was therefore unknown. However, I authenticated the hadith there on account of the corroborating hadith of Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī, included in Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd no. 1203.

Nevertheless, one of the brothers—may Allah reward him well—pointed out to me Mālik’s hadith mentioned here from al-Bayāḍī, and that it removes the inconsistency in ʿAbd Rabbih’s hadith and lends weight to his narration from Muḥammad, from Abū Salamah, from al-Bayāḍī.

This is correct. However, he erred in saying that this al-Bayāḍī was Salamah ibn Ṣakhr al-Bayāḍī, who had pronounced ẓihār—a declaration likening one’s wife to an unmarriageable female relative—over his wife. For the scholars stated that he has no hadith other than the hadith concerning ẓihār. Ibn ʿAbd al-Barr said beneath Mālik’s hadith:
