3377—“Be modest, for Allah is not ashamed of the truth: do not have intercourse with women in their anuses.”
It was narrated by al-Nasāʾī in al-Sunan al-Kubrā (5/322/9009), al-Bazzār in his Musnad, al-Baḥr al-Zakhkhār (1/474/339), al-Kharāʾiṭī in Masāwiʾ al-Akhlāq (2/209–210/466–467), and Abū Yaʿlā in al-Musnad al-Kabīr (2/344/779—al-Maqṣad al-ʿĀlī), through ʿUthmān ibn al-Yamān, from Zumʿah ibn Ṣāliḥ, from Ibn Ṭāwūs [from his father], from ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Hād, from ʿUmar, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: … and he then cited it. The additional wording is from al-Kharāʾiṭī. There is another discrepancy in its chain, the mention of which would take too long; among its details is that al-Nasāʾī has, in its place: “from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār.”
This discrepancy may have originated with ʿUthmān ibn al-Yamān, for Ibn Ḥibbān said in al-Thiqāt (8/450):
“He sometimes erred.”
Or it may have originated with Zumʿah ibn Ṣāliḥ, for he is weak, as stated in al-Taqrīb and elsewhere. Thus, declaring the report defective on his account is more appropriate. Other versions have also been narrated from him; al-Dāraquṭnī mentioned them in al-ʿIlal (2/166–167) and said:
“ʿUthmān ibn al-Yamān’s version is the soundest of them. And Allah knows best.”
I say: But there is also a discrepancy in what is narrated from him concerning it, and al-Dāraquṭnī mentioned only the second version, which contains the addition: [from his father].
