Silsilat al-Ahadith al-SahihahNasir al-Din al-Albani
  1. “There are three whose supplications Allah does not reject: one who remembers Allah abundantly, the supplication of the oppressed, and the just ruler.”

Recorded by al-Bazzār (4/39/3140—Kashf al-Astār) and al-Bayhaqī in Shuʿab al-Īmān (1/419/588 and 6/11/7358), through several routes from Ḥumayd ibn al-Aswad: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Saʿīd ibn Abī Hind narrated to us from Sharīk ibn Abī Namir, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār, who said: I heard Abū Hurayrah narrate from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he then cited it.

I say: This is a good chain of transmission. Its narrators are trustworthy and among the narrators of the two Ṣaḥīḥs, apart from Ḥumayd ibn al-Aswad. Al-Bukhārī narrated from him in conjunction with another narrator, as mentioned in the introduction to al-Fatḥ. There is slight criticism concerning him, but it causes no harm and does not lower his hadith beneath the rank of good, if Allah Most High wills.

Note: Al-Haythamī cited only the first part of the hadith. He cited it immediately after the preceding hadith with the wording:

“Three have a right upon Allah that He will not reject their supplication: the fasting person until he breaks his fast, the oppressed person until he gains redress, and the traveller until he returns.”

Its chain includes Ibrāhīm ibn Khuthaym, who is abandoned. He then cited immediately after it the hadith under the present heading, with the wording: “Three whose supplications are not rejected: one who remembers Allah ...” He said: “I say: and he mentioned something similar.”

I say: This gives the impression that the remainder is similar in meaning, whereas the difference is as you can see.

  1. “Allah will not look, on the Day of Resurrection, at an elderly man who commits adultery, nor at an elderly woman who commits adultery.”

Recorded by al-Ṭabarānī in al-Muʿjam al-Awsaṭ (9/184/8396). He said: Mūsā narrated to us:
