I say: This chain of transmission is good, based on the detailed explanation given above concerning Darrāj in the preceding hadith.
Indeed, it is an authentic hadith, for it has another route and a corroborating report, which together add further strength to its existing strength.
As for the route: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ziyād narrated it from ʿUmārah ibn Rāshid, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, was asked, “Will the people of Paradise have intercourse with their wives?” He replied:
“Yes—with a sexual organ that does not tire, a vagina that does not wear out, and desire that never ceases.”
It was recorded by al-Bazzār (4/197/3524—Kashf), Abū Nuʿaym as well, no. 366, and Ibn ʿAsākir in al-Tārīkh (21/582–583, photographic copy). Al-Bazzār said:
“Regarding ʿUmārah: we know of no one who narrated from him except ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ziyād. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān was intelligent, but he encountered unknown teachers and narrated objectionable reports from them; consequently, his hadith was judged weak. This is one of the reports held against him, and no one else shared in narrating it.”
I say: This indicates two things:
First: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Ziyād—al-Ifrīqī—was truthful in himself, and the weakness in his hadiths arose from his unknown teachers. Al-Ḥāfiẓ cited something similar from Abū Ḥātim and Abū Zurʿah; see al-Tahdhīb. Therein, he also related that a group declared him reliable, while others declared him weak. What appears from the totality of their statements is that he was truthful in himself, as al-Bazzār indicated, but weak in his retention despite his righteousness. Al-Ḥāfiẓ summarized their differing assessments of him most excellently in al-Taqrīb, saying:
“Weak in his retention, though he was a righteous man.”
