“Where is the one who asked about the Hour?” He also said:
Saʿd passed by, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“If this one lives until he has exhausted his allotted lifespan, not an eye among you will remain blinking.”
Abu Yaʿla recorded it (7/104/4049) with a weak chain.
He also has another route (7/23/3920), whose chain is good.
I then found a corroborating narrator for al-Mubarak ibn Fudalah, namely ʿImran al-Qattan, who narrated: al-Hasan narrated to us from Anas ... the same as al-Mubarak’s narration recorded by Abu Yaʿla.
Ahmad recorded it (3/213). *
3254—“There will be a tribulation: the sleeping person in it will be better than one lying down; one lying down in it will be better than one sitting; one sitting in it will be better than one standing; one standing will be better than one walking; one walking will be better than one riding; and one riding will be better than one running. All those slain in it will be in the Fire.”
He said: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, when will that be?” He said, “During the days of widespread killing and turmoil.”
I asked, “When will the days of widespread killing and turmoil be?” He said, “When a man will not feel safe even with the one sitting beside him.”
I asked, “What do you command me to do if I live to see that time?” He said, “Restrain yourself and your hand, and remain in your house.”
He said: I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what if someone enters my house?” He said, “Then go into your room.”
I asked, “O Messenger of Allah, what if someone enters my room?” He said, “Then go into your mosque, and do this”—and he clasped his right hand around his wrist—“and say: ‘My Lord is Allah,’ until you die in that state.”
ʿAbd al-Razzaq narrated it in al-Musannaf (11/350/20727), and through him Ahmad.
