anything!” (Al-Liwāʾ newspaper, 17 Muharram 1414 AH, issue 1053). The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, spoke the truth when he said: “If you feel no shame, then do whatever you wish.” Recorded by al-Bukhari.
The evil effects continued to spread and escalate among the people, until one of them said, “He is a heretic!” Another said, “He is a Freemason!” Discord whose consequences would not have been praiseworthy nearly broke out in society, had it not been for Allah Most High’s kindness. May Allah deal with those who incited it as they deserve.
What should draw the attention of sincere people of intelligence is that not one of those preachers and writers who stirred up discord cited my statement concerning emigration, my adducing the Quran and the sunnah as proof, or his statement, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: “Emigration does not cease so long as jihad continues” (1). For they know deep within themselves that, had they done so, their deceit, ignorance, and—so to speak—their fishing in troubled waters would have been exposed to the people. This applies especially to their chief, “the poor man,” concerning whom I ask Allah either to let me see his day of ruin or to grant him repentance to Allah for what his hands have wrought, what he has uttered, and what his supporters have remained silent about. He is the Best of those whom one may ask.
I have written this as a lesson and admonition; and to Allah belongs the outcome of all matters. *
3215—“Which created beings have the most remarkable faith?” They said, “The angels.” He said, “How could the angels not believe?!” They said, “The prophets.” He said, “Revelation comes to the prophets, so how could they not believe?!” They said, “The Companions.” He said, “The Companions are with the prophets, so how could they not believe?! Rather, the people with the most remarkable faith are those who come after you and find a book of revelation; they believe in it and follow it. They are the people—or the created beings—with the most remarkable faith.”
Al-Bazzār recorded it in his Musnad (3/318–319, Kashf al-Astār): Al-Faḍl narrated to us
