First, no report is recorded from this Bashir. Second, the correct form appears in the two Muʿjams as Busr ibn Saʿid, as mentioned above. Third, they listed him—that is, Busr—among the teachers of Bukayr ibn al-Ashajj. However, in al-Mizzi’s Tahdhib al-Kamal, it appears as “Bishr ibn Saʿid,” explicitly vocalized with a kasrah on the baʾ. It has since been corrected in the new edition. *
The Fraternization of the Emigrants among Themselves
- The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) established a bond of brotherhood between al-Zubayr and Abdullah ibn Masʿud.

I say: Al-Hakim recorded it (3/314), as did al-Tabarani in al-Kabir (12/179/12816) and al-Awsat (1/53/1/915), through the route of Saʿid ibn Sulayman al-Wasiti: ʿAbbad ibn al-ʿAwwam narrated to us from Sufyan ibn Husayn, from Yaʿla ibn Muslim, from Jabir ibn Zayd, from Ibn Abbas, who said: … and he mentioned it. Al-Hakim said: “Its chain of transmission is authentic,” and al-Dhahabi agreed with him.
I say: Rather, it is authentic according to Muslim’s criterion, for all its narrators are reliable transmitters of the two Shaykhs;
