al-Mundhir al-Hizami: Maʿn ibn ʿIsa narrated to us: Fāʾid, the client of ʿĀbadil (1), narrated to us from his patron, ʿUbayd Allah ibn ʿAli ibn Abi Rafiʿ, from his grandmother Salma, who said ... and then cited it.
I say: This is an authentic chain of transmission. Its narrators are trustworthy and among al-Bukhari’s narrators, apart from this Fāʾid, who is also trustworthy. Ibn Maʿin and others declared him trustworthy, and al-Hafiz said in al-Taqrib: “Truthful.”
Regarding the hadith, al-Haythami said in Majmaʿ al-Zawaʾid (5/27):
“Al-Tabarani transmitted it, and its narrators are trustworthy.”
It is authentically reported from him, peace and blessings be upon him, that he forbade eating from the upper part of the dish, in the hadiths of Ibn ʿAbbas and ʿAbd Allah ibn Busr; both are documented in al-Irwaʾ (7/38–39).
3126—(Faith is Yemeni—thus, as far as Lakhm and Judham.)
Ahmad transmitted it (3/224), and through him Ibn ʿAsakir in Tarikh Dimashq (3/150): ʿAli ibn ʿAyyash narrated to us: Muhammad ibn Muhajir narrated to us from ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym, who said:
Anas ibn Malik came to Muʿawiyah ibn Abi Sufyan—who was in Damascus—and entered upon him. Muʿawiyah said to him, “Narrate to me a hadith which you heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with no one between you and him.” Anas said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saying ...,” and then cited it.
Al-Tabarani also transmitted it in Musnad al-Shamiyyin (1/297), through ʿAli ibn ʿAyyash with the same chain.
I say: This is an authentic chain of transmission. Its narrators are trustworthy and among the narrators of al-Sahih, apart from ʿUrwah ibn Ruwaym,
