However, in a version recorded by al-Khaṭīb through Ibn Lahīʿah, from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ṣāliḥ, from Yazīd ibn Abī Yazīd, he said:
“I performed the pilgrimage with my wife, Umm Sulaym, and I went in to see ʿĀʾishah … and mentioned a hadith similar to this one.”
I say: If this version has been soundly preserved, and it is established that this Yazīd accompanied his wife when she went in to see ʿĀʾishah, may Allah be pleased with her, and heard this hadith from her, then the chain of transmission is sound and the hadith is authentic. Otherwise, it is good by virtue of corroborating evidence, for it has many supporting reports. Among them is his ﷺ statement in the hadith narrated by Buraydah, may Allah be pleased with him:
“I had forbidden you to keep the meat of sacrificial animals beyond three days, so retain whatever you wish …”
Muslim, Ibn Ḥibbān (5367), and others narrated it. Its documentation has been given in Aḥkām al-Janāʾiz (pp. 227–228, al-Maʿārif edition).
Something similar was narrated from other Companions; see Majmaʿ al-Zawāʾid (4/25–27).
It is authentically established from a number of the Companions that they would take provisions of the meat of sacrificial offerings and sacrifices to Medina. Their documentation has preceded under no. 805. *

Aḥmad narrated it (3/413–414): Bahz and ʿAffān narrated to us; they said: Hammām narrated to us—from Qatādah, as ʿAffān stated in his version—from Kathīr, from Abū ʿIyāḍ, from a man among the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, that the Prophet ﷺ forbade …
I say: This is an authentic chain of transmission. Its narrators are trustworthy, and all are narrators of the two Ṣaḥīḥs except Kathīr, who is Ibn
