and Abu ʿAwanah (4/408) also narrated it through other chains from Abu Usamah, through the same chain.
Ibn Abi Shaybah, the two Shaykhs, and others also narrated it in abbreviated form, through the route of Humayd ibn Hilal from Abu Burdah, and it includes an incident. Ahmad likewise narrated it (4/409).
Ahmad then narrated it (4/417), as did Abu ʿAwanah, through the route of Saʿid ibn Abi Burdah from his father, with the addition:
“Abu Musa said: I excused what they had said, explaining that I had not known of their need.”
It has also been narrated from Abu Burdah through another chain, in a different wording; but its chain contains two unknown narrators and discrepancies. I therefore included it in al-Ḍaʿīfah (6090). *
3093—“No one of this community—Jew or Christian—hears of me and then does not believe in me, except that he will enter the Fire.”
It is narrated from Saʿid ibn Jubayr, may Allah Most High have mercy on him. There are three variant chains from him:
The first is narrated from him in mursal form. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said ... and mentioned it. He added: “I began to ask: Where is its confirmation in the Book of Allah? I scarcely heard any hadith from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, without finding its corroboration in the Quran—until I found this verse: ‘Whoever disbelieves in it from among the factions, the Fire is his promised destination’—that is, all religious communities.”
Al-Tabari transmitted it in his Qur'anic exegesis (12/13): Muhammad ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿla narrated to us; he said: Muhammad ibn Thawr narrated to us, from Maʿmar; he said: Ayyub narrated to me from him.
This is an authentic chain; all its narrators are trustworthy.
