I have also located a corroborating narration whose wording states: “Cleanse your courtyards, for the Jews are the most foul-smelling of people.”
Wakīʿ relates it in al-Zuhd (2/65/1): “Ibrāhīm al-Makkī narrated to us, from ʿAmr ibn Dīnār, from Abū Jaʿfar, as a marfūʿ report.”
This chain is weak. Ibrāhīm al-Makkī is Ibn Yazīd al-Khawzī, an abandoned narrator, as noted in al-Taqrīb; and I do not know who Abū Jaʿfar is. Apparently he was a Successor, which makes the report mursal.
In sum, every route for this ḥadith is shaky except the first one, which is ḥasan and thus the basis for reliance; the route of al-Bazzār is excluded for the reason mentioned earlier. Allah knows best.
(Al-afniya is the plural of fanāʾ, i.e., the open yard in front of a house.)
237 – “When he had performed the dawn prayer he would pause. Then, when the sun on this side—meaning in the east—was at the same distance that it is from the afternoon prayer on that side—in the west—he would stand and pray two rakʿahs, after which he would pause again. Then, when the sun on this side—meaning in the east—was at the same distance that it is from the noon prayer …”
