A third supporting report:
ʿAbd al-Hamid ibn Salih narrated it: Abu Bakr ibn ʿAyyash narrated to us, from al-Aʿmash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, laughed and said: “I marvel at people who are led to Paradise in chains while they are unwilling.”
Abu Nuʿaym narrated it in al-Hilyah (8/307). I say: Its chain of transmission is sound.
Kamil Abu al-ʿAla corroborated him, saying: “I heard Abu Salih narrate it,” in an abbreviated form: “Our Lord, the Most High, marvels at people who are led to Paradise in chains.” Ahmad narrated it (2/448).
Muhammad ibn Ziyad also corroborated him, from Abu Hurayrah, with the same wording. Al-Bukhari and others narrated it, and it has been cited in Zilal al-Jannah (573) and Sahih Abi Dawud (2401).
Al-Bukhari (4557) also narrated, through Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah, concerning the verse, “You are the best nation ever raised for mankind,” that he said: “You are the best of people for people: you bring them in chains around their necks until they enter Islam.”
I say: This is a report attributed to the Companion but bearing the ruling of a report attributed to the Prophet, as the preceding routes attest.
(Note): Brother Hamdi al-Salafi commented on the hadith of al-Fudayl ibn Sulayman, which contains al-Tabarani’s wording:
