that many Muslims have reversed this ruling by leaving their own lands for the lands of the disbelievers! How, then, are those whom Allah has guided to Islam supposed to know such a ruling when the Muslims themselves are acting contrary to it?!
Let both these and those know that migration remains in force, just as jihad does. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Migration does not cease so long as the enemy continues to fight.” In another hadith: “Migration does not cease until repentance ceases, and repentance does not cease until the sun rises from the west.” It is referenced in al-Irwa’ (1208).
It should also be known that migration has various forms and several reasons; explaining them is a matter for another occasion. What matters here is migration from the lands of disbelief to the lands of Islam, regardless of whether their rulers deviate from Islam or fall short in applying its rulings. In every case, they are incomparably better than the lands of disbelief in morals, religious commitment, and conduct.
The matter is obviously not as one ignorant, foolish, reckless preacher claimed: “By Allah, if I were given the choice between living in Jerusalem under Jewish occupation and living in any Arab capital, I would choose to live in Jerusalem under Jewish occupation!” He went further and said explicitly: “I see no alternative but that migration from Algeria to Tel Aviv is obligatory!” This is what he said—may his mouth be shattered! Its falsehood is not concealed from any Muslim, however foolish he may be.
To bring the superiority I have mentioned closer to the minds of readers who love the truth and are eager to know and follow it—those who are not intimidated by the clamour of the shouters, the shrieking of actors, or the agitation of resentful, envious, and spiteful preachers and writers—I say to those lovers of truth: Remember at least two hadiths of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him:
