Al-Baghawi also recorded it through this route in Sharh al-Sunnah (14/339/4149). Ibn Lahi'ah appears to have been corroborated, for al-Haythami said (10/201–202): “Ahmad and al-Tabarani narrated it, and the narrators in one of al-Tabarani’s two chains are the narrators of the Sahih.” Al-Mundhiri preceded him in this, saying (4/79): “Ahmad and al-Tabarani narrated it through two chains; the narrators of one of them are the narrators of the Sahih.”

He then narrated it (no. 784) through the route of Yahya ibn Ayyub, from Yazid ibn Abi Habib, with the same chain. I say: This is a strong corroborating transmission from Yahya ibn Ayyub al-Ghafiqi, who was trustworthy and among the narrators of al-Bukhari and Muslim.

I say: It is part of an authentic hadith, narrated by Abu al-'Abbas al-Makki, who heard 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr, may Allah be pleased with them both, say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me: “O 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr, you fast perpetually and stand in prayer at night; and if you do that—”
