their Ṣaḥīḥ collections. The hadith of Aisha was also recorded by al-Bukhari and Muslim, as mentioned above, as well as by those previously named alongside Muslim. The hadith of Ibn Abbas is referenced by me in Ṣaḥīḥ Abī Dāwūd (1134) and al-Rawḍ al-Naḍīr (393), while the sourcing of Umar’s hadith has preceded.
Among the weak hadiths authenticated by this deranged al-Ghumari is the hadith of Aisha: “He would travel, pray in full, and shorten the prayer” (pp. 26–28). I do not wish to prolong the discussion in refuting him, for I have already demonstrated its weakness and uncovered its hidden defect in Irwā’ al-Ghalīl (3/6–9). Rather, I wish to draw the readers’ attention to two important matters.
First: al-Ghumari did not establish the hadith’s authenticity according to the methodology of the hadith scholars—particularly while responding to those who judged it weak, such as Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn al-Qayyim, and Ibn Hajar. He merely imitated al-Daraqutni in his statement, “Its chain of transmission is authentic.” I have shown there that it contains a narrator whose status is unknown. Yet al-Ghumari said (p. 30), “The narrators in its chain are trustworthy,” without any explanation or verification.
Second: among those who judged weak this hadith—which this junior al-Ghumari authenticated—was his elder brother, Ahmad al-Ghumari, may Allah have mercy on him. Commenting on Ibn Rushd’s statement, “It has not been authentically established that he, peace and blessings be upon him, ever prayed in full,” Shaykh Ahmad said: “I say: This is known from his practice to anyone who has followed the hadiths and reports concerning his journeys, peace and blessings be upon him. The hadith masters have explicitly stated this. Ibn al-Qayyim said in al-Hady al-Nabawi …” He then cited Ibn al-Qayyim’s words and endorsed them.
As for the junior al-Ghumari, he cited this statement and rebutted it by declaring al-Daraqutni’s chain authentic and blindly following him in that, as stated above. So consider how self-deluded he is, and how ruined he is by his contradictions. We ask Allah for well-being and safety.
