The third: Rawwād ibn al-Jarrāḥ, from al-Awzāʿī, with the same report. Ibn Jarīr and al-Ḥākim (2/526) recorded it, and al-Ḥākim said: “Its chain of transmission is authentic.” Al-Dhahabī rebutted him, saying: “I say: ʿIṣām ibn Rawwād alone narrated it from his father, and he has been declared weak.”
I say: ʿIṣām was not alone in narrating it, for Muḥammad ibn Khalaf al-ʿAsqalānī corroborated him; he is truthful, as al-ʿAsqalānī stated. Indeed, Rawwād is weak because he became confused in his later years, but the preceding corroborating reports show that he retained it accurately. Thus, the hadith is authentic beyond doubt.

I say: He is trustworthy, as al-Dhahabī stated in al-Kāshif. Rāshid was Ibn Nujayḥ. Al-Dhahabī said: “Abū Ḥātim said: ‘His hadith is acceptable.’” Al-Ḥāfiẓ said:
