for he entitled the ḥadith:
“Chapter: The warning against the consequences of becoming absorbed in the implements of cultivation, or of exceeding the limits that have been set.”
It is plain that excessive striving for income distracts its seeker from his religious duties, pushes him to scramble for worldly gain, makes him cling to the earth, and leads him to shun jihād—as can be seen among many wealthy people.
This interpretation is supported by the Prophet’s ﷺ saying:

From Isḥāq Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān: ʿAṭāʾ al-Khurāsānī related to him that Nāfiʿ related to him from Ibn ʿUmar, who then mentioned the report.
It was recorded by Abū Dāwūd (no. 3462), al-Dulabī in al-Kunā (2/65), Ibn ʿAdī in al-Kāmil (256/2), and al-Bayhaqī in al-Sunan al-Kubrá (5/316).It was corroborated by Faḍālah ibn Ḥuṣayn, from Ayyūb, from Nāfiʿ, with the same wording.
Ibn Shāhīn narrated it in a section of al-Afrād (1/1) and said
