Al-Ājurrī has recorded it, and Suwayd is weak. Ibn Baṭṭah also cited it, but I cannot tell whether he brings it by this very route or through another isnād that goes back to ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz, for I do not have his book at hand just now.
Sixth route: through Abū Maʿshar, from Yaʿqūb ibn Zayd ibn Ṭalḥah, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Anas—the version that contains the additional wording.
Al-Ājurrī recorded it (16). Abū Maʿshar’s full name is Najīḥ ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sindī, and he is weak. Ibn Mardawayh also transmitted it via the same route, as cited in Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr (2/76-77).
Seventh route: through ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sufyān al-Madanī, from Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Anṣārī, from him. It likewise contains the addition, worded: “He said: That upon which I and my Companions are.”
Al-ʿUqaylī recorded it in al-Ḍuʿafāʾ (pp. 207-208), and al-Ṭabarānī in al-Ṣaghīr (150), remarking: “No one related it from Yaḥyā except ʿAbd Allāh ibn Sufyān.” Al-ʿUqaylī added, “He is not followed up in this ḥadith.”
I say: Even so, he is better than al-Abard ibn Ashras, for the latter also transmitted this ḥadith from Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd but inverted its wording, rendering it: “My ummah will divide into seventy—or seventy-one—sects; all of them will be in Paradise except one.” They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, who are they?” He replied, “The zindīqs—namely, the Qadariyyah.” Al-ʿUqaylī likewise cited this version and said:
