I say: As for “Allah’s cause” in the verse concerning the categories of zakah recipients—“Charities are only for…”—it includes jihad, Hajj, and ‘umrah. Explaining this, however, belongs elsewhere.
2682 — “O Amr, Allah has perfected everything He created. O Amr”—the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) then tapped with four fingers of his right hand below Amr’s knee and said—“this is where the lower garment should reach.” He then raised them, [then tapped with four fingers below the first four and said: “O Amr, this is where the lower garment should reach”], then raised them and placed them below the second set, saying: “O Amr, this is where the lower garment should reach.”
Ahmad (4/200) transmitted it: al-Walid ibn Muslim narrated to us; al-Walid ibn Sulayman narrated to us that al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to them from Amr ibn So-and-so al-Ansari, who said: While he was walking with his lower garment hanging below the proper length, the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) caught up with him, holding his own forelock and saying, “O Allah, Your servant, the son of Your servant and the son of Your bondwoman.” Amr said: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, I am a man with thin calves.” He replied by repeating the above.

There is some criticism concerning al-Qasim ibn Abd al-Rahman—the associate of Abu Umamah—but it is not detrimental. For this reason, al-Haythami said in The Compendium of Additions (5/141): “Ahmad transmitted it, and its narrators are trustworthy.”
I say: It also has a corroborating report from the hadith of Abu Umamah, who said: While we were with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), Amr ibn Zurarah al-Ansari caught up with us, wearing a two-piece garment,
