Silsilat al-Ahadith al-SahihahNasir al-Din al-Albani

And he added, “It was recorded by Abū ʿAwānah in his Ṣaḥīḥ and by al-Ḥākim.”

Thus Ibn Ḥajar cited only those two because their isnāds contain no mention of Shurayk, unlike the transmitters in the Sunan collections; for that reason he did not ascribe the ḥadīth to them. All praise is due to Allah, who has guided us to this; we would never have been guided had Allah not guided us.

Know that ʿĀʾishah’s comment reflects only the extent of her own knowledge. In fact, both Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī and Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim—and other works besides—firmly establish, through the narration of Ḥudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), that:
“The Prophet ﷺ came to a people’s refuse heap and urinated while standing.”

Therefore the correct ruling is that it is permissible to urinate either sitting or standing; what matters is keeping oneself safe from splashes, and whichever posture secures that becomes obligatory.

As for the reports that forbid urinating while standing, no authentic ḥadīth exists—such as the narration, “Do not urinate standing.” I have dealt with it in Silsilat al-Aḥādīth al-Ḍaʿīfah, no. 938.

202 – “The sun was never held back for any human being except for Joshua on the nights when he marched toward Jerusalem.”

In another version: “A prophet from among the prophets set out for battle and said to his people, ‘Let no man follow me who has contracted marriage with a woman and wishes to consummate it but has not yet done so; nor anyone who has begun building a house but has not yet raised its roof; nor anyone who has purchased sheep or pregnant she-camels and is waiting for them to give birth.’

“So he went forth and drew near to the town at the time of the ʿAṣr prayer—or thereabouts. (In another narration: he met the enemy as the sun was about to set.) Then he said to the sun, ‘You are commanded, and I am commanded. O Allah, hold it back!’”
