Part of it is corroborated by a hadith of Abū Ḥumayd al-Sāʿidī: the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Seek worldly provision in a fitting manner, for everyone is facilitated toward the share of it decreed for him.”
Al-Ḥākim and al-Bayhaqī recorded it through the route of al-Rabīʿ ibn Sulaymān: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Wahb reported to us; Sulaymān ibn Bilāl informed us; Rabīʿah ibn Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān told me, from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn Saʿīd ibn Suwayd, from him. Al-Ḥākim said: “Authentic according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.” Al-Dhahabī concurred. I say: Rather, it meets the conditions of Muslim alone, since al-Bukhārī did not record anything from this ʿAbd al-Malik.
Hishām ibn ʿAmmār also narrated it: Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh reported to us, from ʿUmārah ibn Ghaziyyah, from Rabīʿah ibn Abī ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, with the wording: “For everyone is facilitated toward that share of it for which he was created.” Ibn Mājah (2142) and al-Quḍāʿī recorded it in Musnad al-Shihāb (folio 60/2). The word “thereof” does not appear in Ibn Mājah.
I then came across a corroborating report for Ibn Abī Hilāl, transmitted by Wahb ibn Jarīr: Shuʿbah reported to us, from Ibn al-Munkadir, with the same wording. Abū Nuʿaym recorded it in al-Ḥilyah (3/156 and 7/158), through Isḥāq ibn Banān: Ḥubaysh ibn Mubashshir reported to us; Wahb ibn Jarīr reported to us with it. He said: “It is singular among the narrations of Shuʿbah; Ḥubaysh alone narrated it from Wahb.” I say: Wahb is trustworthy and among the narrators of al-Bukhārī and Muslim. Ḥubaysh is trustworthy and among the narrators included in al-Tahdhīb.”
