Then, when his book Kashf al-Astār was printed, the hadith was found there (2472) through Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Ibn Yazīd ibn Umayyah, from Nāfiʿ... This is another corruption: “from Yazīd”; the correct wording is: “from Ibn Yazīd.”
The second is from Abū Hurayrah. Al-Haythamī (9/15) said: “Al-Bazzār and al-Ṭabarānī narrated it in al-Awsaṭ, and al-Ṭabarānī’s chain is good.”
2486 — “This world will indeed be opened to you, until you adorn your houses as the Kaʿbah is adorned.” We said, “Will we still be upon our religion then?” He said, “You will still be upon your religion.” We said, “Are we better today, or on that day?” He said, “Rather, you are better today.”
Al-Bazzār narrated it in his Musnad (3671): Ibrāhīm ibn Saʿīd al-Jawharī narrated to us: Abū Aḥmad narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-Jabbār ibn al-ʿAbbās, from ʿAwn ibn Abī Juḥayfah—from his father; he said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said it. Al-Ḥāfiẓ said in his Zawāʾid (p. 330): “A singular, authentic report.”
I say: Its chain is authentic. All its narrators are among Muslim’s narrators, apart from ʿAbd al-Jabbār ibn al-ʿAbbās, who is trustworthy. Al-Haythamī (10/323) said: “Al-Bazzār narrated it, and its narrators are those of the authentic collections, apart from ʿAbd al-Jabbār ibn al-ʿAbbās al-Shabāmī, who is trustworthy.” Al-Bazzār then narrated a corroborating report for it from the hadith of Ṭalḥah ibn ʿAmr, with similar wording.
