“Indeed, Allah has forbidden you wine, gambling, and drums,” and he said: “Every intoxicant is forbidden.” Ahmad (1/289 and 350) and others transmitted it. Its chain of transmission is also authentic, and it is cited in Mishkat al-Masabih (3652 and 4503). Ahmad likewise transmitted it (2/158, 165, 167, 171, and 172) through various chains from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Amr, attributed to the Prophet.
2426 — “Do not feed them what you do not eat yourselves”—meaning, the poor.
Ahmad (6/105 and 144) and al-Tabarani in al-Awsat (1/90/2—Majma‘ al-Bahrayn) transmitted it from Hammad ibn Salamah, who said: Hammad ibn Abi Sulayman narrated to us, from Ibrahim, from al-Aswad, from ‘Aishah, who said: A lizard was presented as a gift to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, but he did not eat it. ‘Aishah said: “O Messenger of Allah, shall we not feed it to the poor?” He said the above. Al-Tabarani said: “No one narrated it from Hammad except Hammad and al-Thawri.” Al-Haythami (3/113) said: “Its narrators are regarded as reliable.”
I say: Its narrators are the narrators of Muslim, although Hammad ibn Abi Sulayman is weak; therefore, the chain is good.
2427 — “This—meaning Mecca—will not be invaded after today until the Day of Resurrection.”
Al-Tirmidhi (1611), al-Hakim (3/627), and Ahmad (3/412 and 4/343) transmitted it, as did al-Tahawi in Mushkil al-Athar (2/228–229) and Ibn Sa‘d in
