And Hammam was Hammam ibn Yahya ibn Dinar al-Azdi, while ‘Abd al-Samad was Ibn ‘Abd al-Warith.
2414 — “A child is part of his father’s earnings.”
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Awsat (1/141/2): Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn Sa‘id related to us; Muhammad ibn Abi Bilal al-Tamimi related to us; Khalaf ibn Khalifah related to us, from Muharib ibn Dithar, from Ibn ‘Umar, attributed to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. I say: This is a weak chain of transmission. Regarding Khalaf ibn Khalifah, al-Hafiz said: “Truthful, but he became confused in his later years. Al-Daylami recorded it (4/206) through the route of Ibrahim ibn al-Sari al-Harawi: Sa‘id ibn Muhammad related to us; Shuqayq related to us, from Ibrahim ibn Adham, from ‘Imran al-Qasir, from Malik ibn Dinar, from Abu Idris al-Khawlani, from Abu Dharr, attributed to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. I say: This is a weak chain of transmission. Shuqayq was Ibn Ibrahim, Abu ‘Ali al-Balkhi, the shaykh of Khurasan. Al-Dhahabi said: “His hadith is rejected. He narrated from Isra’il and … He was martyred in the year 194 AH, nor…”
