- “By Him in whose Hand is Muhammad’s soul, by morning there was not with the household of Muhammad a sāʿ of grain or a sāʿ of dates.”
Ibn Majah (2/537) and Ahmad (3/238) recorded it from al-Hasan ibn Musa, who said: Shayban informed us, from Qatadah, from Anas, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. I say: This chain of transmission is authentic according to the criteria of al-Bukhari and Muslim. Hisham ibn Abi Abd Allah also narrated it from Qatadah with the same chain, except that he said, “By evening there was not with ...,” omitting its opening part. Ahmad (3/133 and 208), al-Bukhari (4/242), and al-Tirmidhi (1215) recorded it; al-Tirmidhi said: “A good, authentic hadith.” In another version recorded by al-Bukhari (5/105) through this route, the wording is: “By morning, the household of Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had nothing but a sāʿ, nor by evening.”
- “By Him in whose Hand is Muhammad’s soul, there is no servant who believes and then remains upright except that he will be led into Paradise. I hope that they will not enter it until you and the righteous among your descendants have taken up your dwellings in Paradise. Indeed, my Lord has promised me that seventy thousand of my Ummah will enter Paradise without reckoning.”
Ibn Majah (2/574), Ibn Khuzaymah in al-Tawhid (p. 87), Ibn Hibban (9—Mawarid), al-Tayalisi (1/27), and Ahmad (4/16) recorded it from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, who said: Hilal ibn Abi Maymunah narrated to us; he said: Ata ibn Yasar narrated to me; he said: Rifa'ah ibn Arabah al-Juhani narrated to me, attributing it to the Prophet.
