“It was narrated by al-Tabarani in al-Kabir and by Abu Yaʿla, and its narrators are trustworthy.”

As for the hadith of Ibn ʿUmar, ʿAsim ibn ʿUmar narrates it from ʿAbd Allah ibn Dinar, from Ibn ʿUmar, attributed to the Prophet, and it is like the hadith of Umm Salamah, except that he did not say, “in the homes.” Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Awsat (1/112/1). Al-Haythami said (3/214): “Ibn Hibban declared ʿAsim ibn ʿUmar al-ʿUmari trustworthy, but said that he made mistakes. The majority deemed him weak.”

“Marriage, divorce, the waiting period, and inheritance have abrogated—or, he said, prohibited—temporary marriage.”
Ibn Hibban (1267), al-Daraqutni (398), and al-Bayhaqi (7/207) recorded it through Muʾammal ibn Ismaʿil, who said: ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmar narrated to us; Saʿid al-Maqburi narrated to us from Abu Hurayrah: “When the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, set out, he stopped at Thaniyyat al-Wadaʿ (the Farewell Pass). I say: This is a weak chain of transmission. Although ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmar is one of Muslim’s narrators, al-Hafiz said of him: “Truthful, but prone to errors.” Muʾammal ibn Ismaʿil is truthful but has poor retention. However, it is corroborated by what ʿAbd Allah ibn Lahiʿah narrated from Musa ibn Ayyub, from Iyas ibn ʿAmir, from ʿAli ibn Abi Talib, who said: “The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prohibited temporary marriage. He said: It had only been permitted for one who could not find [a wife], but when marriage was prescribed—
