that Junādah ibn Abī Umayyah led a group of people in prayer. When he had finished the prayer, he turned to his right and said, “Are you satisfied?” They replied, “Yes.” He then did the same to his left, and said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say...” and then cited it.
I say: This chain of transmission is very weak. Its flaw is Abū Bakr al-Hudhalī, whose hadiths are abandoned. Shahr ibn Ḥawshab also had poor retention. Al-Ṭabarānī narrated it through this route, as cited in Fayḍ al-Qadīr. However, the hadith has been established as authentic through the combined reports of a number of Companions, in closely similar wordings. See al-Targhīb (1/171), along with our source documentation of it.
2326 — “Whoever makes two sales in a single sale is entitled to the lesser of the two prices, or else it is ribā (usurious gain).”
Ibn Abī Shaybah narrated it in al-Muṣannaf (6/120/502), and from him (3461); Ibn Ḥibbān in his Ṣaḥīḥ (1110); as did al-Ḥākim (2/45) and al-Bayhaqī (5/343): Ibn Abī Zāʾidah informed us, from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
I say: This is a good chain of transmission. Al-Ḥākim declared it authentic, and al-Dhahabī concurred with him; later, Ibn Ḥazm did likewise in al-Muḥallā (9/16). It was also narrated by al-Nasāʾī (7/296, new edition), al-Tirmidhī (1/232), who declared it authentic, Ibn al-Jārūd (286), Ibn Ḥibbān as well (1109), and al-Baghawī in Sharḥ al-Sunnah (8/142/211), who also declared it authentic; and by Aḥmad (2/432, 475, and 503) and al-Bayhaqī, through several routes from Muḥammad ibn ʿAmr, with the wording: “He forbade two sales in a single sale.”
