of those who work for Islam and as proof against the despondent fatalists.
2 – “The Almighty gathered the earth together for me—He compressed it—so I saw its eastern and western reaches, and the dominion of my community will extend over everything that was gathered for me.” Ḥadīth.
Related by Muslim (8/171); Abū Dāwūd (4252); al-Tirmidhī (2/27), who declared it sound; Ibn Mājah (no. 2952); and Aḥmad (5/278, 284) through the narration of Thawbān. Aḥmad also transmitted it (4/123) through Shaddād ibn Aws, if that version is preserved.
Even clearer and more comprehensive is the next ḥadīth:
3 – “This matter will most certainly reach every place the night and day reach; Allah will not leave a house of brick or of hair (that is, a city dwelling or a desert tent) without causing this religion to enter it—honoring the one who embraces it and humiliating the one who rejects it: honor with which Allah elevates Islam and humiliation with which He abases disbelief.”
It is reported by several authorities I cited in Warning the Worshipper (p. 121), and by Ibn Ḥibbān in his Ṣaḥīḥ (1631, 1632) as well as Abū ʿArūbah in al-Muntaqā min al-Ṭabaqāt (2/10/1).
There is no doubt that for this expansion to be realized, Muslims must once again become strong—spiritually, materially, and militarily—so they can prevail over the forces of disbelief and tyranny. The next ḥadīth brings us that very glad-tidings:
