7142—al-Ihsan), Ahmad (3/108), and Ya‘qub al-Fasawi in al-Ma‘rifah (2/532). Ya‘qub, however, worded it: “O Allah, grant him wealth and bless it for him—and I think he said—and prolong his life.” Its chain of transmission meets the conditions of al-Bukhari and Muslim. There is another route concerning the prolonging of his life, which will follow, Allah willing.
The sixth: from Ishaq—who was Ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Abi Talhah al-Madani—who narrated to us from Anas with the same report, but without the supplication for blessing. He added that Anas said: “By Allah, my wealth is indeed abundant, and my children and grandchildren now number nearly one hundred.” Recorded by Muslim.
The seventh: from Hafsah bint Sirin, from Anas, with the same report. She added: Anas said, “I have buried 125 of my own children—not counting my grandchildren—and my land bears fruit twice a year; nothing else in the town bears fruit twice besides it.” Recorded by Abu Nu‘aym in al-Hilyah (8/267) without a complete chain of transmission, and by al-Tabarani in al-Kabir (1/248/710) with a connected chain. Its narrators are trustworthy, apart from Ibrahim ibn ‘Uthman al-Massisi, whom I have not identified. Al-Hafiz cited it in al-Isabah from al-Tabarani’s narration with its chain of transmission, without commenting on it.
The eighth: from ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Abi Jamilah, from Anas, who said: “I certainly recognize the supplication of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in myself, my wealth, and my children.” Recorded by Ibn Sa‘d in al-Tabaqat (7/19–20). Its narrators are trustworthy and are among the narrators of al-Bukhari and Muslim, apart from this ‘Abd al-‘Aziz. Ibn Abi Hatim gave his biography (2/2/379), as had al-Bukhari before him in al-Tarikh (3/2/15), through this narration; neither of them mentioned any disparagement or commendation concerning him. Ibn Hibban listed him among the trustworthy narrators (3/166).
