The Future Belongs to Islam
Allah—exalted is He—says: “He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth so that He may cause it to prevail over every other religion, even though the polytheists may loathe it.”
This noble verse brings us glad tidings that the future is Islam’s: its domination, manifest victory, and governance over all other faiths. Some people imagine that this was fully realized in the Prophet’s ﷺ own lifetime, or in the era of the rightly guided caliphs and the righteous kings who followed. That is not so; only a portion of this truthful promise has been fulfilled, as the Prophet ﷺ himself indicated when he said:
1 – “Night and day will not pass away until al-Lāt and al-ʿUzzā are worshipped once more.” ʿĀʾishah said, “O Messenger of Allah, I used to think that when Allah revealed, ‘He is the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth so that He may cause it to prevail over every other religion, even though the polytheists may loathe it,’ the matter was complete.” He replied, “There will indeed be of that whatever Allah wills.” Ḥadīth.

This narration is reported by Muslim and others; I have traced it in Warning the Worshipper against Taking Graves as Mosques (p. 122).
Other hadiths likewise spell out the scope of Islam’s ascendancy and the breadth of its spread, leaving no doubt that—by Allah’s permission and facilitation—the future belongs to Islam. I shall now cite whatever of those reports I can, hoping they will serve to galvanize the resolve
