documented in Zilāl al-Jannah (914), al-Rawḍ al-Naḍīr (984), and earlier under no. (1895).
2202 — “Let one of you be content with a servant and a mount from this world.”
Al-Dārimī (2/301) and Aḥmad (5/360) recorded it from Abū Naḍrah, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mūlah, from Buraydah al-Aslamī, who related it from the Prophet. I say: Its transmitters are reliable and are among Muslim’s narrators, except Ibn Mūlah, who is unknown; no one other than Abū Naḍrah narrated from him. However, it has a corroborating report from the hadith of Abū Hāshim ibn ʿUtbah, attributed to the Prophet, with similar wording. It was recorded by Aḥmad, Ibn Ḥibbān (2478—Mawārid), and others, and is documented in al-Targhīb (4/124).
2203 — “There will occur in this community people being swallowed by the earth, stones being rained down upon them, and transformation; and that will be when they drink intoxicants, keep singing-girls, and play musical instruments.”
Ibn Abī al-Dunyā recorded it in Dhamm al-Malāhī (fol. 153/1), from Abū Bakr al-Hudhalī, from Anas, who related it from the Prophet. I say: This al-Hudhalī is abandoned. He then narrated it (154/1) from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Zayd ibn Aslam, from one of the sons of Anas ibn Mālik and from others, from Anas, with similar wording. Ibn Zayd is likewise abandoned.
